Over 9,000 heavy metal fans gathered today at Roig Arena to attend the highly anticipated Judas Priest concert. Marking their debut at the Valencian venue, the band delivered a performance reflecting on the major anthems of a career spanning more than five decades, cementing their status as one of the most influential bands in genre history.
The event kicked off around 7:00 PM with performances by two exceptional guest acts. First, Udo Dirkschneider, founder and iconic voice of Accept, celebrated the 40th anniversary of Balls to the Wall, one of European heavy metal's most iconic albums. Next, Australian band Airbourne raised the night's intensity with a blast of energetic, uncompromising hard rock.
Shortly before 10:00 PM came the most anticipated moment. Amidst a massive ovation, Judas Priest stormed the stage, delivering a show defined by powerful riffs, a crushing sound, and the unmistakable vocals of Rob Halford, who once again proved why he is considered one of metal's true legends.
Their set started on a high note with "You've Got Another Thing Comin'" and triggered collective frenzy by chaining together two anthems: "Metal Gods" and "Breaking the Law". The concert continued by blending timeless classics with their most recent material. The 80s vibe of "Turbo Lover" had the entire arena singing, while the crushing "Panic Attack" demonstrated live the strength and relevance of their current catalog, fitting seamlessly alongside their greatest classics.
The final stretch was a display of epic scale and virtuosity. "Victim of Changes" gave the venue goosebumps thanks to Rob Halford's tireless vocal range, before giving way to the wildest moment of the night with "Painkiller". For the encores, "Electric Eye" echoed through the venue. The crowning touch to a historic night came with the festive "Living After Midnight", where thousands of voices joined together to celebrate the metal legend.
With this performance, Judas Priest made their mark on Roig Arena during a night that brought together multiple generations of fans, confirming the enduring power of a band that, over fifty years after its formation, continues to hold a privileged place in heavy metal history.
