Jorge Drexler Celebrates The Biggest Concert of His Career in Valencia at Roig Arena

Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexler headlined one of the most special performances of his career in Valencia tonight, delivering the largest concert he has ever held in the city.

Over the course of more than two hours, Drexler guided the audience through some of the most representative songs from his extensive catalogue, combining tracks from his latest works with compositions that have become true anthems for several generations of fans. Once again, he demonstrated why he is considered one of the most influential and respected voices in Spanish-language music, thanks to a proposal that blends singer-songwriter traditions, folk music, Latin American popular sounds and sonic experimentation.

The concert opened with “Toco madera” and “¿Cómo se ama?”, setting an intimate and heartfelt tone from the very beginning of an evening in which the audience accompanied the musician throughout many moments. Songs such as “Polvo de estrellas”, “Las palabras”, “Al otro lado del río” and “La trama y el desenlace” prompted some of the loudest ovations of the night, while tracks like “Movimiento”, “Tocarte” and “Universos paralelos” showcased the constant artistic evolution of a creator who continues to explore new musical languages.

One of the most emotional moments arrived with “Milonga del moro judío”, one of the most emblematic compositions in his repertoire, as well as “Cuando cantaba Morente”, a tribute to the legacy of the legendary flamenco singer Enrique Morente. The audience was also surprised when Drexler performed “Las palabras” from an improvised stage set up in the middle of the arena floor.

The final stretch of the concert took the emotion to its highest point with “Todo se transforma”, “Ante la duda, baila” and “Bailar en la cueva”, three of the most celebrated songs of the evening. To close the night, Jorge Drexler performed “Sea” accompanied by a candombe ensemble of more than thirty people, creating a powerful and symbolic image that brought a historic concert in Valencia to a memorable conclusion.
