The acclaimed and versatile artist Albert Pla will perform at the Roig Arena Auditorium on January 29. Accompanied by his band The Surprise Band, he will present songs from his upcoming album “No quiero hablar de mí, pero yo”, set for release in November. With more than 25 years of career behind him, Pla has developed an extensive body of work spanning music, theatre, and film.
This new phase will be marked by a strong audiovisual approach. In collaboration with Nueveojos, Albert Pla has taken an active role in shaping the artistic and stage concept of the new show. The concert’s visual proposal will expand on stage the creative universe of the album.
The announcement follows the release of “El Mortadela”, the latest preview of the album—a song inspired by various cases of censorship and persecution of artists, building one of the most uncomfortable and provocative narratives of this new chapter. It was preceded by “Todo me va bien”, featuring Kase.O, and “Perdónenme”, with Uruguayan artist Sebastián Teysera, tracks that have offered a glimpse into the sonic universe of a project that marks Albert Pla’s return to recording after nearly two decades without releasing a solo album.
An unclassifiable, provocative and always unpredictable artist, Pla has built over the decades one of the most distinctive careers in Spanish-language music. Blending singer-songwriter traditions, satire, theatre and performance, his work has created a unique artistic universe capable of combining humor, social critique and tenderness with great creative freedom.
