LG Electronics Takes a Step Forward in Technological Innovation with State-of-the-Art Audiovisual Installations at Roig Arena

LG Electronics is advancing technological innovation with the installation of cutting-edge audiovisual solutions at Roig Arena, the upcoming multi-purpose venue in Valencia spearheaded by Juan Roig, set to open to the public in September featuring the highest-resolution video scoreboard in Europe. With a total of 1,700 m² of LED screens installed, over 500 monitors, and 25 VIP boxes equipped with Transparent OLED technology and touchscreen displays, LG reaffirms its commitment to bringing the technological leadership and image quality of its well-known home televisions to Spain’s largest arena. With a capacity of up to 20,000 people, Roig Arena aims to rank among the world’s top indoor venues.

“The collaboration between LG and Roig Arena exemplifies how technology can elevate large-scale architectural projects. From the initial design to final implementation, we have worked hand-in-hand with the client to provide customized solutions that meet the highest standards of image quality, performance, and efficiency,” said Jaime de Jaraíz, President and CEO of LG Spain.

“The advanced technological solutions LG has installed at Roig Arena will help us achieve our goal of delivering an optimal user experience at every event. We appreciate LG’s deep involvement in the project and its commitment to creating technology that will make Roig Arena one of the most cutting-edge venues in Europe,” said Víctor Sendra, General Manager of Roig Arena.

Technologies Ensuring an Immersive Experience with the Highest Image Quality

Among the LG solutions that Roig Arena proudly features— all manufactured simultaneously to guarantee the highest standards and consistent image quality with 100% color accuracy— the standout is the large-format video scoreboard with an impressive resolution, the highest in Europe. Positioned at the center of the arena floor and height-adjustable, it is composed of four flat LED panels with beveled edges that create a seamless, uninterrupted image. Additionally, it includes two 18 m² screens on the inner faces to display game information during any basketball event.

On the exterior, the iconic screen known as “El Ojo” (“The Eye”), installed on the northwest facade of the venue, has become Roig Arena’s signature feature. Built with highly durable outdoor LED technology, it is ideal for harsh weather conditions. It has a coating designed to withstand the most demanding environments thanks to its tropicalized and anti-saline treatment, especially important in coastal areas like this one. Measuring 48 meters wide by 10 meters high—nearly 300 m² total—El Ojo stands as one of the largest and most visible exterior structures.

Another spectacular LG solution integrated into the venue is the Ribbon LED, installed around the arena’s perimeter. Covering a total area of 220 m², it can display dynamic content during top-tier sports events and cultural and musical performances. It will debut this September with Bravo, Nino, the musical tribute to Nino Bravo featuring artists such as David Bisbal, Malú, and Pablo López, among others. Complementing the Ribbon is the largest indoor videowall in Europe, made of panels of the same model, with a total surface area of 500 m². Together, these elements will provide attendees with a fully immersive experience.

The 25 VIP boxes at Roig Arena are equipped with transparent OLED touchscreen displays, offering exclusivity and customization. Each box features a combination of screens tailored to the space, measuring approximately over 5 m², ensuring an advanced technological experience with a modern aesthetic for guests.

LG will also equip the venue with a virtual studio designed for high-quality digital content production. It will feature a central 10 m² screen along with other cutting-edge modular displays. These technologies will enable broadcasts, hybrid events, and interactive experiences with the exceptional visual quality LG is known for.
