Roig Arena Dives Into Amaia’s Dazzling Musical Universe

Nearly 11,000 people immersed themselves tonight in Amaia’s universe at Roig Arena, in one of the highest-attended concerts the Pamplona-born artist has performed to date. Already regarded as one of the most influential voices of her generation, Amaia once again demonstrated the strength and distinctive personality of her live performance as part of her “Arenas” tour.

The show opened with an intimate and evocative staging: Amaia, seated on a stool inside a scenic cubicle, performed two songs from her latest album, Si abro los ojos no es real—a work that traces a journey into her dreamlike universe. “Visión” and “Tocotó” were performed, the latter a reinterpretation of “Corre, corre, caballito.” The setlist then moved through the delicate pop of “Magia en Benidorm” before transitioning into “Com voce,” her collaboration with Judeline.

Accompanied by her inseparable piano, Amaia built a nearly two-hour concert in which she alternated intensity and sensitivity. One of the highlights came with “La vida imposible,” one of her most beloved songs. There was also space for intimacy with piano performances such as “C’est la vie” and her version of “Me pongo colorada,” the popular hit by Papá Levante. The appearance of the harp marked another special moment, as she relied on this instrument to perform “Ya está.”

Throughout the concert, the feeling was one of discovering not just one Amaia, but all her artistic facets. As the night progressed, these multiple versions of the artist unfolded naturally on stage, all characterized by an overflowing talent.

One of the most emotional moments of the night came when a group of choir singers joined Amaia on stage to perform “Despedida,” a song dedicated to the artist’s grandmother, who passed away a few years ago, turning the performance into a celebration of life.

In addition to songs from her latest album, the concert also featured tracks from earlier stages of her career, such as “El relámpago,” “Nuevo verano,” “El encuentro”—performed in its studio version with Alizzz—and “La canción que no quiero cantarte,” her well-known collaboration with Aitana.

“Quedará en nuestra mente” led into another moving moment: a heartfelt tribute to “Yamaguchi,” the iconic park in Pamplona where the artist grew up. The final stretch came with “Aralar,” “Tengo un pensamiento,” and “Bienvenidos al show,” bringing to a close—paradoxically—a night that proved that, while Amaia shines in her studio work, it is on stage where her artistic proposal reaches a truly extraordinary dimension.
