The Roig Arena Auditorium Hall will host “Nino Bravo Rock & Corazón” on 6 March, a tribute show that reinterprets the singer’s repertoire through the instrumental strength of rock while remaining faithful to the essence of his original work. Led by musician Juan Carlos Sotos (vocals and guitar), the project has the endorsement of Nino Bravo’s family and will bring together a Valencian band alongside guest artists who will be announced at a later date.
The show explores the enduring power of songs that, more than half a century after they were first recorded, continue to move audiences. Guitars, bass, drums and keyboards will bring a new dimension to the melodies that made Nino Bravo one of the most distinctive voices in Spanish-language music. The performance will also incorporate audiovisual projections of the singer. The repertoire will include beloved classics such as “Te quiero, te quiero”, “Libre”, “Un beso y una flor”, “Noelia” and “América, América”.
From Aielo de Malferit to the memories of several generations
Born in Aielo de Malferit in 1944, Luis Manuel Ferri Llopis grew up in Valencia, where he took his first steps in music. He made his official debut as Nino Bravo at Valencia’s Teatro Principal in March 1969. Just one year later, the success of “Te quiero, te quiero” launched a career that quickly expanded across Latin America.
In a remarkably short period of time, his voice became associated with songs such as “Un beso y una flor”, “Noelia” and “Mi tierra”. His death in a car accident on 16 April 1973, at the age of 28, brought that career to a premature end. The posthumous release of “América, América” further enriched a legacy that has remained alive through reissues, tributes and new interpretations.
“Nino Bravo Rock & Corazón” draws on that legacy to bring his music back to the stage in his homeland. The concert on 6 March 2027 at the Roig Arena Auditorium Hall will offer audiences the opportunity to reconnect with his songs and discover how they resonate through the language of rock.
