Silvio Rodríguez returns to the stage with a special tour that will stop at Roig Arena on September 16. Considered one of the essential figures of Ibero-American songwriting and one of the most prominent names of the Nueva Trova movement, the Cuban singer-songwriter is the author of songs that form part of the emotional and cultural memory of several generations, such as “Ojalá”, “Unicornio” and “La maza”.
With his return to live performances, Silvio Rodríguez invites audiences to pause and experience a body of work that continues to resonate with new listeners. His repertoire has transcended decades without being confined to a single era, bringing together poetry, observation of the world, intimacy, criticism, tenderness and a distinctive style that has turned songwriting into a unique artistic space.
Silvio Rodríguez’s connection with Spain has been particularly strong over the years. For many, his concerts are not only an opportunity to see a beloved artist, but also to reconnect with their own memories. For younger audiences, his return offers the chance to discover live a songbook passed down through generations.
On this occasion, Silvio Rodríguez will be joined on stage by a band made up of several of his regular collaborators: Niurka González, Malva Rodríguez, Rachid López, Maykel Elizarde, Jorge Reyes, Emilio Vega, Jorge Aragón and Oliver Valdés.
