Russian Band Mumiy Troll Brings Its “Rockapops” Sound to the Roig Arena Auditorium

Russian band Mumiy Troll performed tonight at the Roig Arena Auditorium, revisiting some of the most iconic songs from a career that has established them as one of the leading acts in contemporary Russian rock.
Founded in Vladivostok in 1983 by frontman and singer Ilya Lagutenko, the band gained international exposure after representing Russia at the 2001 Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Lady Alpine Blue”. Since then, Mumiy Troll has continued to build a successful career defined by a distinctive sound that blends alternative rock, pop and indie music, a formula the band itself dubbed “rockapops”.
During the concert, the band performed some of the most celebrated tracks in its catalogue before an audience composed largely of spectators from Eastern Europe. Among the highlights of the evening were “Vladivostok 2000”, “Dolphins” and “Because of Love”, three of the most representative anthems of their discography.
