Saint Etienne to Perform at the Roig Arena Auditorium Hall on March 19

The British indie band Saint Etienne will perform at Sala Auditorio Roig Arena on 19 March as part of their farewell tour, “Farewell European Tour 2027.”

Formed in 1990 in Croydon by Bob Stanley and Pete Wiggs, Saint Etienne achieved success with their debut single “Only Love Can Break Your Heart”, a cover of the Neil Young song that quickly became a dancefloor anthem. Shortly afterwards, Stanley and Wiggs were joined by singer Sarah Cracknell, who made her debut with the group on “Nothing Can Stop Us” (1991) and on the album “Foxbase Alpha”, released the same year and nominated for the Mercury Music Prize.

Their second album, “So Tough”, reached the UK Top 10 and was followed by an extensive tour across the United Kingdom. In 1994, Saint Etienne became the first band to have a live performance broadcast from the Glastonbury Festival. Tours across Europe, the United States, Japan and Australia followed.

Their most recent album, “International”, the thirteenth of their career, was released in September 2025 to widespread critical acclaim and returned the band to the UK Top 10. The group has stated that it wants to step away while still at one of its creative peaks and with an album that embodies the sophisticated, hedonistic melancholy that has long defined its distinctive dance-pop sound.
