The Psychedelic Furs Immerse Roig Arena In The Post-Punk Era
The British band performed the most iconic tracks from their discography.
“Heaven,” “Love My Way,” and “Ghost In You” were among the songs featured in the concert.
They emerged in 1977 and remain as unstoppable as ever. The Psychedelic Furs gathered a thousand fans at Roig Arena Auditorium to revisit the greatest hits that have defined their career. Californian band Dear Boy entertained the crowd during the wait with an indie rock set evoking the punk spirit of the ’80s and ’90s.
Around nine o’clock, The Psychedelic Furs reunited with their Valencian audience to the rhythm of the ’80s hit “Heaven.” With a live performance steeped in post-punk influences, Richard Butler (vocals) and his brother Tim (bass), along with Rico Good (guitar), Amanda Kramer (keyboards), and Zachary Alford (drums), delivered songs spanning their musical journey. The ode to free love in “Love My Way,” the plea for understanding in “Pretty In Pink,” and the reflection on loss in “Ghost In You” also resonated throughout the night. “Heartbreak Beat” felt like a farewell, but minutes later, The Psychedelic Furs finally crowned the evening with the energetic “All Of The Law” and “India.”
