Monetochka’s Dreamlike Sound Wraps Roig Arena Auditorium In An Aura Of Social Critique

  • The performance is part of the “Fairytale Tour”, which will visit over 13 countries

  • Monetochka’s songs are narratives filled with irony and social criticism

Nicknamed “the voice of a generation,” Russian singer Monetochka performed at the Roig Arena Auditorium as part of her “Fairytale Tour,” which will take her to 13 countries and around 20 cities across the globe.

With an audience made up largely of the Russian community living in Valencia and the Valencian Community, Elizaveta Gyrdymova – known artistically as Monetochka – took to the stage to address issues such as inequality, censorship, and modern love. She is known for the rebellious and activist nature of her compositions, wrapped in dreamlike tones inspired by Russian folk tales and Soviet visual culture. In fact, she is one of the most outspoken critics of the current Russian government, earning her a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize.

During the concert at Roig Arena, she performed her most popular hits – such as “Every Time” and “Nymphomaniac” – as well as songs from her latest album. Her seemingly innocent yet socially charged sound has made her one of the key voices in European alternative pop.
