“AMA” is the first chapter of the new musical stage of María Arnal, one of the most innovative voices in contemporary music, who blends voice, dance and artificial intelligence to explore the boundaries of live song. The Catalan artist released her new album on February 20 through Atlantic Records. This musical proposal is what she will bring to the Roig Arena Auditorium on April 2 in a unique concert in the capital of Turia.

For Arnal, “AMA” is not just a title: it is affirmation, authorship and determination—the moment when María fully embraces her story, her career and her artistic vision. The album, produced by Arnal herself alongside Alizzz and Pau Riutort, features thirteen tracks that expand upon the creative territory previously opened with her singles “Ama,” “Pellizco” and “Que me quiten.” The album traverses physical, symbolic and emotional punishments linked to the control of the body and desire. Each repetition reinforces what was once silenced; each vocal layer restores awareness.

In “AMA,” traditional polyphony coexists with synthetic choirs; advanced electronics support a clear pop ambition, and innovation serves emotion. The physical voice—trained, luminous, intentionally human and imperfect—sings “the old way” while conversing with its digital replicas.

“AMA” is the result of three years of work shaped by collaborative projects with Marcos Morau, the soundtrack for Polvo Serán, installations such as Maria Choir and a research process developed with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center and the Intelligent Instruments Lab in Reykjavík. Artificial intelligence does not appear in the album as a futuristic gesture but as a rigorous tool to explore the human voice. For the artist, the goal is to investigate how the physical voice—with breath and error—can coexist with other digital voices that accompany it without replacing it.

The album represents the definitive consolidation of María Arnal as an experimental artist. It is a work that not only dialogues with its time but challenges it from the awareness of the body and from the conviction that technology, when used consciously, can amplify what is most human.
