Loquillo Brings Classic Rock to Roig Arena in the Venue’s Last Concert of the Year
The “Corazones Legendarios Tour" revisits the greatest hits that have accompanied several generations.
El rompeolas”, “En las calles de Madrid”, and “Cadillac solitario” are some of the songs featured in the concert.
About to celebrate five decades on stage, Loquillo has proven that authenticity remains unique. Around nine o’clock at night, the Catalan artist took to the stage at Roig Arena for the last concert of the year hosted by the Valencian venue. The show, part of the “Corazones Legendarios” tour, opened with a legendary track from the Movida Madrileña, “En las calles de Madrid”, followed by hits from the 2000s such as “Línea clara” and “Sol”. The concert was precisely that: a journey through time with classics given a fresh sound.
During nearly two hours of pure Spanish rock, the audience sang along to songs like “Memoria de jóvenes airados”, “El ritmo del garaje”, and “Rock and roll actitud”. One of the most energetic moments came with “El rompeolas”, one of the artist’s most famous songs, performed with thousands of fans joining in.
On stage, where a personalized Valencia Basket jersey with Loquillo’s name hung, the singer paused the concert to address the audience—“something I don’t usually do,” he noted. He recalled his military service years, when he played basketball with a teammate he advised to “train.” “That person is Pedro Martínez, and you have him here in Valencia; he’s the best coach in Europe,” he said, referring to the Valencia Basket coach.
The final stretch of the concert featured three classics that cemented Loquillo as a rock star and reaffirmed his status tonight: “Feo, fuerte y formal”, “Rock and roll star”, and “Cadillac solitario”.
