After seven years touring theatres across Spain, the family musical “Mulan. Honor, loyalty, courage” arrives at the Roig Arena Auditorium on March 29. Produced by La Compañía de Row, this original reinterpretation of the well‑known Chinese legend is designed for audiences of all ages, featuring a strong comedic tone that connects with both children and adults.

The show proposes a visual and emotional journey through ancient China, with a staging that incorporates Chinese shadow play, dragons, imperial palaces, martial arts and a dynamic set that transforms throughout the performance. All of this is enhanced by carefully crafted lighting and visual effects.

The musical features original music composed specifically for the production. Brand‑new songs and instrumental pieces inspired by Oriental sounds accompany the action from beginning to end. The soundtrack becomes a key narrative element that reinforces the values of the story and sustains the rhythm of the show.

The adaptation also stands out for its message. The musical conveys a universal theme about courage, loyalty, personal identity and the strength of family, portraying Mulan as a relatable and contemporary heroine. The costumes combine garments inspired by traditional Eastern clothing with creative designs for symbolic and fantastical characters.

The show was a finalist for Best Family Musical at the Spanish Musical Theatre Awards and also earned a nomination for Best Featured Female Performance for Mónica Zamora.
