Laura Pausini Will Host the Sanremo Festival in Italy

Thirty-three years ago, Laura Pausini’s career took off in Italy when she won the Newcomers section of the Sanremo Festival with “La solitudine.” Now, the Italian singer returns to the stage that saw her rise to fame in a completely different role: she will co-host this edition alongside Italian presenter and artistic director Carlo Conti.

“Sanremo is my destiny. My smile. My kind of temptation. My kind of fear,” Laura Pausini shared in a social media post. “Today my eyes are those of a little girl in the big body of a conscious woman. Those who know me well know that I dream more than I sleep. And dreaming brought me here,” she added, moved.

What is the Sanremo Festival?

It is Italy’s oldest music competition, a true musical phenomenon held since 1951. Both established artists and new talents take part in it. The winner is usually invited by Italian public broadcaster RAI to represent Italy at Eurovision. This year, Sanremo will take place from February 24 to 28 at the iconic Teatro Ariston and will feature artists such as Fedez, Elettra Lamborghini, and Patty Bravo. In recent years, Sanremo has boosted the careers of artists like Måneskin, Mahmood & Blanco, Angelina Mango, and Il Volo. The latter will return to Roig Arena on October 31, 2027.

A very promising year for Laura Pausini

A few weeks after the Festival, Laura Pausini will embark on her “Io Canto” tour, which will last two years and take her around the world. The Italian star will stop at Roig Arena on April 4 to perform her greatest hits as well as new songs from her album “Io canto 2,” which will be released in Italian on February 6, with a full Spanish version scheduled for March 13.
