BIGSOUND, 17º Ribeira Sacra and Rototom Festivals Honored at the TIIM Awards at Roig Arena
Singer Sole Giménez received the TIIM Legend Award.
The TIIM Experiences took place in the morning.
The awards are an initiative of the Association of Music Promoters of the Valencian Community (MusicaProCV) with the collaboration of Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, PROMFEST, FOTUR and Roig Arena.
The first edition of the TIIM Awards recognized the boost to tourism generated by music festivals such as BIGSOUND (Barakaldo, Pontevedra, Seville, Torrevieja and Valencia), 17º Ribeira Sacra (Sober, Lugo) and Rototom Sunsplash (Benicàssim, Castellón). Likewise, the Aragonese Pyrenees and Benidorm were awarded as the best tourist destinations of the year in Spain and the Valencian Community, respectively, for hosting the Pirineos Sur and Low festivals. In addition, Prestoso Fest (Cangas del Narcea, Asturias) was rewarded for its innovative efforts. Finally, singer Sole Giménez received the TIIM Legend Award for her long and consolidated career.
In a gala held this Wednesday at Roig Arena in Valencia and hosted by Carolina Ferre, the TIIM Awards highlighted initiatives that strengthen synergies between the music industry and the tourism sector. These projects, through live music, not only attract audiences but also contribute to reducing seasonality in tourism, promoting territorial cohesion and creating new business opportunities.
The TIIM Experiences
Before the awards ceremony, Roig Arena hosted the TIIM Experiences, activities designed as a meeting point for artists, music promoters and tourism professionals. They serve as a space to share ideas and develop strategies to boost cultural, economic and social development in different regions.
The TIIM Experiences featured José Manuel Camarero, Regional Secretary of Tourism, and Sergi Almiñana, president of MusicaProCV, who welcomed attendees. The first roundtable discussed Valencia’s role as a hub for music tourism, with participants including Juan Pablo Valero (Director of València Music City strategy), Daniel Molina (Manager of Just Life Music), Natalia Briales (Head of Cultural Tourism at Turespaña) and Manuel Rojo (Institutional Relations Manager at BIME, Bilbao).
The TIIM Experiences also showcased Leturalma, known as “the most beautiful festival of the summer,” held in Letur (Albacete) to raise awareness about depopulation. Singer Rozalén, promoter of the project, participated alongside Ángel Sierra (Director of Territorio Musical) and Sonia Araque (Festival Director). Both panels were moderated by journalist Pilar Almenar.
The first edition of the TIIM Experiences concluded with the talk “Sole Giménez: Legacy and Voice of a Mediterranean Musical Legend,” in which the renowned artist conversed with journalist and writer Rafa Cervera.
The TIIM Experiences and TIIM Awards follow in the footsteps of the TIIM Conferences (Tourism & Music Industry) organized by MusicaProCV since 2019. As in previous editions, the event was supported by Turisme Comunitat Valenciana, PROMFEST and FOTUR. This year, València Music City and Roig Arena also joined the initiative.
