The Festival Locos Por La Música Celebrates The 80s And 90s At Roig Arena
The Valencian venue has hosted performances by Girasoules, Amistades Peligrosas, La Guardia, Los Rebeldes, Rafa Sánchez, Revólver and Seguridad Social.
The event lasted for more than seven hours.
The evening, with nearly 10,000 attendees, began around 5:00 p.m. with the performance of Girasoules, the Valencian group formed in 1991 with influences from British and American pop and folk. Although the band disbanded in 2001, they occasionally reunite for special concerts, and Locos por la Música was the perfect occasion.
They were followed by Amistades Peligrosas, a true icon of the 90s thanks to their mix of europop and Celtic sounds. The duo energized the audience with bold songs that range from sexual themes to strong political and social messages. Around 7:00 p.m., it was time for the pop-rock of La Guardia, the Granada-based band formed in the 80s, which enjoyed continuous presence on radio playlists during those years.
Next, Los Rebeldes took the stage at the Valencian venue to perform their rock and roll and rockabilly hits. Founded in 1979 and led by Carlos Segarra, they became a benchmark of the 80s and 90s music scene thanks to anthems like Mediterráneo and Bajo la luz de la luna. Their rebellious spirit and energetic live show have consolidated them, as demonstrated at Roig Arena, as one of the most prominent Spanish rock bands.

Almost at 9:00 p.m., it was time for Rafa Sánchez, co-founder of La Unión, to embark on a musical journey through the group’s discography. The artist performed some of the songs he composed throughout his career, such as Lobo-Hombre en París and Sildavia. He was followed on stage by the Valencian band Revólver. With an opening tribute to Robe Iniesta, where Carlos Goñi sang La vereda de la puerta de atrás, the group played emblematic tracks like El roce de tu piel and Si es tan solo amor.
The grand finale to seven hours of music came with Seguridad Social, who returned to the stage of the Valencian venue for a one-hour concert. Their mestizo rock proposal defined the 80s and 90s, with songs like Chiquilla, Quiero tener tu presencia and Comerranas.
