Kany García: “Performing at Roig Arena Allows Us To Keep the Same Staging I Use Throughout the Rest of the Tour”

The Puerto Rican singer will arrive at the Valencian venue on July 3. In this interview with Roig Arena, she gives us a glimpse of what her tour will be like and of the new musical chapter she is currently immersed in.
How would you describe your new musical phase?
With my tenth studio album, I feel a certain clarity about what people expect and what they like. Also about what I want to do and what I don’t want to repeat, as well as what I want to continue exploring. I’m in one of those moments in life where I feel very comfortable with what I’m living and what I stand for.
Which influences have shaped this new stage of your career?
For me, this phase is very closely connected to the influences I grew up with. It’s been like going back in time. Going back to the singer‑songwriters I listened to, returning to the Caribbean music I grew up with—Latin artists who came from salsa, merengue, bachata… all those things I may have stopped listening to. For this album I wanted to use instrumentation and messages that relate more to the roots.
How has it been to adapt these new songs to the live format?
It’s wonderful, because it requires us to be a bit more multifaceted. It allows me to go from guitar to piano, or from piano to cello. The tour is the one that benefits the most from all these evolutions artists can bring to the stage.
On July 3 you will debut at Roig Arena. What can you tell us about this concert?
The last time I played in Valencia it was a very different experience, because it was in a theater format. The experience changes a lot from one format to another. Performing at Roig Arena gives us the chance to bring the same staging I use for the rest of the tour—lights, set design, visuals, etc. The repertoire grows. All of this has me incredibly excited.
Can you send a message to those who haven’t bought their tickets yet but still have time to join the show?
Of course! It’s always a pleasure for me to return to Valencia, especially with this tour and this album. Don’t miss out! It may seem like July 3 is far away, but it’s really just around the corner. Sending you a big hug. I’m sure we’re going to have a night to remember.
