5 Seconds of Summer Prepare Their Return to Spain by Asking Fans for Their Dream Setlist
5 Seconds of Summer will be back in Spain very soon. The Australian band, one of the most influential acts in international pop‑rock, will return to Spain on May 1 to reunite with their fans at Roig Arena, where they will perform songs from their new album, Everyone’s a Star!, while also revisiting much of their career.
The excitement is at an all‑time high, and the band knows it. Just a few days ago, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood, Michael Clifford and Ashton Irwin surprised their community by asking directly on social media which songs fans would like to hear on this new tour. “What if we bring back our ‘Teenage Dream’ cover?” Irwin wrote on Instagram in a post that has already surpassed 171,000 likes, sparking a flood of requests.
The dream setlist imagined by 5SOS fans could be endless, but these are some of the most frequently mentioned songs in the comments and the ones generating the most excitement ahead of the Valencia show:
Try Hard
One of the band’s earliest big hits and one of the songs through which many European fans first discovered 5SOS. Try Hard explores the fear of showing one’s feelings due to the risk of rejection, wrapped in a light and carefree pop‑punk sound that perfectly defines the group’s early era. A true fan favourite.
What I Like About You🤟🏼
One of the most celebrated covers among their followers. The band’s version of the original song by The Romantics was included on the She Looks So Perfect EP (2014) and has become one of the most fun and energetic tracks in their repertoire—perfect for singing at the top of your lungs at a live show.
English Love Affair
Probably one of the most requested songs in 5SOS’s Instagram post. It was neither a single nor a standout track on their debut album, yet it has become a cult favourite among fans. The song tells the story of a fleeting summer romance in London with a cheeky, carefree tone that perfectly captures the band’s early youthful spirit.
Bad Omens
One of the standout singles from the band’s fifth studio album and one of the songs that best reflects their sonic and emotional evolution. Bad Omens directly addresses toxic relationship dynamics and how warning signs are ignored due to emotional attachment. Its darker, more mature sound resonates strongly live and has become one of the audience’s favourites.
End Up Here
A true fan favourite thanks to its emotional weight and meaning. Included on 5SOS’s debut album, the song is fully autobiographical, chronicling the band’s journey from unknown teenagers uploading videos to YouTube to filling major venues around the world. A song that deeply connects with fans and has become a symbol of the shared history between the band and their audience.
With 5 Seconds of Summer’s return to Spain drawing ever closer, only one question remains: how many of these songs will make it onto the May 1 setlist at Roig Arena?
